Mierlo - Julianna Feron

My name is Julianna Feron. I am Hungarian but I have been living in the Netherlands since 2014. I live with my husband, Niek, we are the parents of Liza and Axel. I work as a birth doula in the Eindhoven area.
I started using cloth nappies when Liza was 8 months old. I started Elimination Communication with her back then and it became important for me that after every time her nappy got wet, I would give her a new one, but the number of used disposable nappies became huge; a lot of bags in the garage waiting for being transported to the "Milieustraat". So trying to use cloth nappies seemed a good idea.
At the beginning I struggled a lot, googled a lot because there was a huge supply of nappies. Different types, systems, styles, materials. I did not understand what is “AIO”, “SIO”, “pocket luier/nappy”. After a while, it all became clear and there was no way back to disposable diapers anymore. Our daughter was potty trained at 21 months but 1 month later our son was born so I got a second chance to use our beautiful stash and even more, starting with a newborn set.
I can give you tips which could be the easiest option for the daycare, which one for grandma. And no worries, your partner will also learn it quicker than you think, beyond that he/she might want you to order a certain patterned nappy because that would look so cool or adorable :). I can also help you to understand the characteristics, absorbency of most of the materials, fabrics, types.

Hi, my name is Judith. I'm married and mum of a son born in January 2021. I started my cloth diaper adventure when my was son was about 10 months old. A friend told me about it and if I had known it was that easy I would've started earlier. It has many advantages. I can understand when you read about it the first time you can be a bit overwhelmed by all the different systems and possibilities. I'm happy to tell you all about it and help you on your way to a new adventure!
